Recipe For Almond Milk (Dairy–Free And Delicious)

    1. 100g raw almonds (organic if you can) soaked in a cup of water overnight (or for a couple of hours)
    2. blend with 1 litre of filtered water
    3. add a dash of cinnamon (about 1/4 teaspoon or more if you like)
    4. add a tablespoon of honey or agave nectar(suitable for diabetics)
    5. add 1/4 teaspoon of natural vanilla extract or teaspoon of vanilla powder
    6. add a tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
    7. blend it all again!
    8. strain the mixture through a nut milk bag or a clean stocking.

now you have a perfect, delicious alternative to milk to use on your cereal and in your tea but you will probably just drink it as is!

Almonds are a very healthy source of protein, calcium, B vitamins and good–for–you fats.

Detox Juice: (Kidney Cleanser)

  • 60 ml fresh organic Barley grass or Wheatgrass juice (2–3 frozen cubes)
  • 3 Small carrots
  • 3 small apples
  • 2 sticks of celery

Juice the apples, followed by the carrots and celery and lastly add the Barley grass or Wheatgrass juice.

Pour in a tall glass and enjoy!

Flu Fighter Juice

  • 60 ml fresh organic Barley grass or Wheatgrass juice (2–3 frozen cubes)
  • 4 Carrots
  • 3 small apples
  • 1 small piece of ginger
  • 1 beetroot
  • 1 lime
  • 2–3 cups of fresh orange juice

Juice the apples, followed by the carrots, ginger, beetroot, lime and lastly add the orange & Barley or Wheatgrass juice.

The Ultimate Breakfast Smoothie

  • 60 ml fresh organic Barley grass or Wheatgrass juice (2–3 frozen cubes)
  • 1 teaspoon Flaxseed Oil – optional
  • 1 Banana
  • A cup of mixed berries (strawberry/raspberry/blackberry)
  • 2 tablespoons of pumpkin and sunflower seeds
  • 1 tablespoon of cornflakes or quinoa flakes or millet or oats
  • 2 tablespoons of natural or soya yoghurt

  • A squirt of local honey

In a blender, combine all ingredients until frothie.

Vocado Kiwi Fruit Boost

  • 60 ml fresh organic Barley grass or Wheatgrass juice (2–3 frozen cubes)
  • 1 Avocado
  • 2 golden kiwi fruit or regular
  • 1 very ripe pear
  • 2 tablespoons of natural yoghurt or Soya yoghurt
  • A cup of rice milk
  • A squirt of honey

In a blender, combine all ingredients until frothie.

Make this smoothie every morning for breakfast. It’s rich in vitamins, antioxidants, fiber, omega–3 fats, mono–unsaturated fats, soy protein, and so much more!

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml fresh organic Barley grass or Wheatgrass juice (2–3 frozen cubes)
  • 1 banana
  • ½ apple
  • 1 kiwi, peeled
  • ½ cup frozen mixed berries
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • ½ cup soy milk or almond milk (Read here how to make your own almond milk)
  • ½ cup nonfat plain yogurt
  • ½ cup tofu
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted natural peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons aloe vera juice
  • 2 tablespoons flaxseed oil

In a blender, combine banana, apple, kiwi, mixed berries and orange juice. Blend until smooth. Add soy milk, yogurt, tofu, peanut butter, aloe vera juice, flaxseed oil, and Barley or Wheatgrass juice. Blend again until well blended. Pour into glasses and serve.

Kiwi Watermelon Slushy

  • 60 ml fresh organic Barley grass or Wheatgrass juice (2–3 frozen cubes)
  • 4 Kiwis, halved and peeled
  • 1½ cups of cut watermelon
  • 1 cup of ice
  • 1 tablespoon of agave (optional, for taste)

In a blender, combine all ingredients until the ice is thoroughly crushed. Add a teaspoon or so of agave to the blender for added sweetness. Enjoy!

Carrot–Apple–Barley Grass Juice

  • 60 ml fresh organic Barley grass or Wheatgrass juice (2–3 frozen cubes)
  • 6–8 Organic Carrots
  • 1 Organic Apple

Wash and cut up your apples and carrots. Juice the apples, followed by the carrots and lastly add the Barley or Wheatgrass juice.

Pour in a tall glass and enjoy!

Bananacado Smoothie

Bananas and avocados are excellent brain boosters and mood lifters. A great source of vitamin B6, bananas reduce fatigue and premenstrual symptoms. Avocados provide healthy fats, which raise serotonin levels and keep you happy.

This is a great breakfast shake with which to start your busy day.

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml fresh organic Barley grass or Wheatgrass juice (2–3 frozen cubes)
  • 1 large organic banana (frozen)
  • ½ large ripe organic avocado
  • ½ a lemon juiced
  • 1 teaspoon fructose (this may vary for sweetness) or Honey
  • 1 cup soya milk (you can use the real stuff too)
  • a couple of drops of vanilla essence

Method:

Blend all the ingredients until you have a smooth drink.

Superfoods Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml fresh organic Barley grass or Wheatgrass juice (2–3 frozen cubes)
  • 200ml Freshly Made Organic Apple Juice
  • 1 Handful Of Mixed and Frozen Organic Berries
  • ½ Organic, Frozen Banana
  • ½ teaspoon Ground Raw Organic Cashews
  • 1 ½ tablespoons Soya Milk Powder
  • 1 tablespoons Hemp Protein Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Sprouted Flax Seed
  • 1 tablespoons Macca Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Raw Honey (optional)

Method:

  1. Mix all ingredients together in the blender until you have a smooth texture.
  2. Add the honey last.
  3. Pour and enjoy!

Fruit & Nut Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml fresh organic Barley grass or Wheatgrass juice (2–3 frozen cubes)
  • 2 big ripe bananas *
  • 3 teaspoons cashew nuts
  • ½ cup fruit juice
  • 1 pine apple
  • 1 ripe mango
  • 2 teaspoons grated ginger (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice/lemon juice

TIP: * Best to use frozen bananas. Take a ripe bunch –peel and wrap individually in cling wrap and freeze

Method:

  1. Add cashew to smoothie–maker/blender
  2. Add fruit juice and first process nuts
  3. Peel and cube mango and add to processor
  4. Cube pine apple and add to processor
  5. Peel and grate ginger and add to processor
  6. Add lime or lemon juice
  7. Process all ingredients, before adding
  8. 2 frozen bananas break and add to blender.
  9. Add 60 ml (2–3 cubes) fresh Barley grass or Wheatgrass juice
  10. Process and ENJOY!

Fatigue Fighter

  • 60 ml fresh organic Barley grass or Wheatgrass juice (2–3 frozen cubes)
  • 2 Carrots
  • 2 small apples
  • 3 sticks of celery
  • 1 beetroot

  • 1 cup of sliced apples with peel (organic)
  • 1 tablespoon of prunes, soaked overnight
  • 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla flavoring
  • 1–1 ½ cup of 50:50 rice dream: almond milk (Read here how to make your own almond milk)
  • 2 teaspoons lecithin granules
  • 2 tablespoons linseed/flax seed oil

In a blender, combine all ingredients until frothie.

Green Berry Smoothie

  • 60 ml fresh organic Barley grass or Wheatgrass juice (2–3 frozen cubes)
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 handfuls of fresh or frozen berries (strawberries, blackberries, raspberries)
  • 1 cup of orange or apple juice

In a blender, combine all ingredients until frothie.

Pour in tall glass and garnish with a strawberry.

Liver Cleanser

  • 60 ml fresh organic Barley grass or Wheatgrass juice (2–3 frozen cubes)
  • (= 2–3 frozen cubes)
  • 3 small apples
  • 3 sticks of celery
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 hard conference pear
  • 1 small piece of ginger
  • A few leaves of spinach

Juice the apples, followed by the celery, cucumber, pear, ginger & spinach and lastly add the Barley or Wheatgrass juice.

Barley Grass Or Wheatgrass Juice

In general, for normal health maintenance, drinking 30-60 ml (2-3 frozen cubes) of Barley grass or Wheatgrass juice every day or every other day is common. If you have never consumed these green elixirs before, 30 ml is a good place to start and then increase to 60 ml per day. For children 30 ml (1-2 frozen cubes) per day is a healthy maintenance dose.
